Dollars for Footballers
The Warrior football team set a school record last season with 10 wins and a top 10 ranking in the state. We want to continue to make strides in our program, but we need your help. I would appreciate any help that you would be willing to give. Please go to the link below were you can donate to our Westwood football program. All proceeds are tax deductible. It's a win - win for all involved.
Your donation will provide us with funds for the following items:
- Improvements to the Field House and Practice Field. These improvements are essential for our program and will provide us the opportunity to continue to compete as one of the BEST schools in the state
- Replacement of the Players Profiles and Pictures each season
- Funding for the KMAC Broadcasting – this is a radio live/TV delayed web broadcast, so families and fans not able to be at the Friday night game can still be a part of the action!
- Funding for our 5th Quarter – this activity brings together both the school and community after the Varsity games
- Funding for the Senior Scholarships
Also, a portion of each donation will be given to THE MIRACLE LEAGUE at Town and Country. This organization provides a unique opportunity in Austin, Texas for special needs children to participate in the game of Baseball. Many of our athletes participate in this program as volunteers and it is a way that our team can give back to our community.
All of this, combined with our best efforts, will help to help to make our season a success. My goal is to raise $5000 for the Dollars for Footballers fundraiser. The Westwood Warrior Football booster club is a 501c3 organization so your donation is tax deductible!
Your loyalty and interest in our program through your pledge is greatly appreciated. With your help, we will continue toward our “COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE”
Please come out and see our games this year.

2012 UIL Realignment: District 15-5A and 16-5A
Al Onderick, February 3, 2012
The Westwood football season can be broken down into three sub seasons: Non Distric Play, District Play and Playoffs. Non District play is like pre season in the NFL. These games while fun to watch and usually against some great rivals (4A Cedar Park) are used to evaluate talent and the playbook. They do not count towards the play offs.
We are currently in District 16 and in the past couple of years have been matched up with district 15 for the first round of the playoffs. District play is important. These games define how we are seeded in the playoffs. Higher seeds, usually play lower seeds in early games. In the last couple of years our first round game was against 15-5A.
Every other year the University Interscholastic League adjusts the district alignments for football and basketball. We care not only who is in our distrct but who is in the district we draw in the first round of the playoffs.
Of interest in the 2012-2013 alignments is 5 time 4A state champion Lake Travis has moved up from 4A to 5A and will compete in District 15. Also long time nemesis Leander and cross town rival Georgetown have moved down into 4A and will not be on our district schedule. Additions to the district schedule now include Pflugerville Hendrickson and Round Rock Cedar Ridge.
