Booster Club Committees (Need volunteers!)
Golf Tournament (Rick Fueling)
One of the main Booster Club fundraisers. Need many volunteers to help coordinate. Ex. Sign-up, Registration, Hole Sponsors, Hole-in-Ones, Prizes, Mulligan sales, Course Spotters. Date for this year's Tournament is Monday, June 2 at Avery Ranch G.C.
Game Day Program (Corry Johnson)
Another main Booster Club fundraiser. Need many volunteers to help coordinate. Ex Ads/Sponsors, Sr. Personals, WHS Club ads, Printing, Game Day Rosters. We sell ads to our sponsors and other football supporters. Varsity senior football players purchase personal "ads" (along with other school teams and clubs). Need volunteers to help sell ads to sponsors, players, school teams and clubs. Need volunteers (typically Freshman/Sophomore parents) to sell programs at each home game. We have also asked freshmen players to sell programs and inserts at the Varsity games. Also, need volunteer to help layout and print the game day roster inserts we sell at each home game.
Membership (Dan Fry)
Another one of the main Booster Club fundraisers. Help the Membership Committee to meet target membership recruiting goals to get as many families, students, alumni and supporters as possible to join the Football Booster Club.
Dave Campbell HEB Football Classic (Chris Freeman)
Need many volunteers to help coordinate. Help with the organizing/marketing/promoting/ticket sales for this exciting Westwood HS Football Season opener, vs. 4A D2 State Champion Lake Travis HS, on August 29th, to be played at the ALAMODOME in San Antonio!!
Merchandise (Melissa Andrews)
Design, take orders, and sell football merchandise at Parent Meetings (May 6th and August 21) and at WHS Football games.
Spirit (new, Michelle Hutcheson)
Need many volunteers to help coordinate. Implement activities to increase spirit of students, parents, teachers and community for football games via Pep Rallies, Spirit Days for Middle schools, GAME SPIRIT, etc.
TeePee Dads (Chris Freeman)
Varsity Dads transport the teepee that the players run through- to all games via the Booster Club trailer.
Coach Meals (Tammy Johnson)
Organize parents to bring meals to school for the coaches on game days (Freshman, JV, Varsity) as well as Film Days (Saturdays). Generally, Thursday, Friday and Saturday during football season.
Varsity Breakfast (Amy Prenger)
Game Day Breakfast of Breakfast Tacos, Chocolate Milk, Orange Juice, Cups, napkins- set up in the back of the Film Room at 7:45-8am on Game Day mornings. Coordinate with Coach for catering of the breakfast tacos.
Varsity Players Game Day Meals (Tammy Johnson)
Catered dinner (Jersey Mike's, etc.) for Varsity players on Varsity Game Days in the afternoon - before the game.
Homecoming (Patti Dagel)
Line-Up Trucks to pull trailers with Bales of Hay- for Varsity players to ride on in the Homecoming Parade. Purchase bags of candy for players to toss to the crowd.
Senior Night (OPEN! Need a Jr. Parent Chairperson)
Junior parent volunteers help to coordinate with Coach for the Senior Night Recognition- recognize the seniors in the football program at the last home game by announcing them and their parents on the field before the game. Arrange for photographer to take photo of seniors and their parents when announced on the field, get roses for player to present to their Mom.
Community Service (OPEN! Need a Chairperson)
Coordinate community service projects for the teams to participate in. Will likely have (2) Services events (days) during the football season
Yard Signs (Sue Benyo)
Help with selling and distribution of Yard Signs
Season Highlight Video (Chris Griesbach)
Contract with a videographer to video each game and edit it for a Varsity Season Highlight DVD. Collect photos of senior players to include in slide show portion of the Highlight video.
Banquet (Lanna Domangue)
Need Junior parent volunteers to help organize end of Season Banquet for the Football Program. Get caterer, Volunteers, Sell Tickets, Set-up and decorate the gym for the banquet, purchase gifts for coaches and graduating players, Banquet Program printed, work with Coach Wood on details of the event.
Scholarships (Tom Lucas)
Review scholarship applications received from the graduating players and award them in the Spring at the Senior Awards Assembly.
Alumni (Mark Finger)
Keep in touch with Alumni to encourage continued support as members of the FBC, provide Football program updates, schedule and coordinate Alumni Get-Togethers/Tailgates, fundraising activities.
