Faces of the Field: Westwood's Haylee Staton
Senior pitcher Haylee Staton was featured in this Friday's issue of the Austin American Statesman. Here is part of her interview:
Now that you're in the second round of the playoffs, what has been the key to the team's success?
The secret is going 100 percent the whole game, and when we get behind, to never give up and we will be OK.
What's your favorite softball memory?
The day I was told that UTSA wanted to offer me a full ride to play for them, and then the day I called coach (Lori) Cook and committed. It was such a great feeling to know that I had found the school for me and was going to get to fulfill my dream of playing Division I softball.
