Want to get in shape for volleyball next fall? The Westwood Speed and Weight Camp will provide athletes with a coach-controlled workout that will improve your speed, quickness and strength. Workouts will consist of weight room drills, agility drills, sprint work, and much more. For more information, click here. |
July 20 - July 23 Summer Volleyball Camp at Westwood High School
4TH - 7TH GRADE CAMP & 8TH - 9TH GRADE CAMP will be taking place July 20th - July 23rd. Registration will continue for the RRISD Summer Volleyball Camp held at Westwood High School. Come learn basic skills including serving floaters, jump serves, passing, defense, setting and attacking. For registration, please complete this Form and mail it to the RRISD Athletic office (address listed on the form). |
2009 Season News |
 Tryouts will be held August 3rd and August 4th. The tryout period will consist of fitness testing, written evaluation and physcial testing. Tryout times will be emailed to all potential players. To be added to the email distribution list, please contact Coach Zora.

 We need ball girls for the 2009 season. Ball girls will help shag balls during the Varsity match as well as be a part of the spirit line during the Varsity introduction before the match. |

2009 Varsity Showcase: August 13-15, 2009

| The 2009
field of teams has grown to over 40 teams in only its 2nd year of the tournament. Since adding the last couple of teams, the schedules are currently being re-worked to include the additional teams. Please check out the Showcase page for more information about the 2009 tournament. This page includes information about the tournament procedures, Hotel Listings with great deals, and soon to be the 2009 tournament schedule.
The format of the 2009 tournament will be pool play Thursday afternoon beginning at 12pm, pool play Friday morning beginning at 9am, and Saturday bracket play beginning at 9am. |

Lindsey Schmid has Standout Sophomore Year at Marist University (New York, DI)
Lindsey Schmid, former 2007 Westwood Volleyball standout, has a successful sophomore year at Marist. As a freshman she led her team in hitting percentage as well as service aces. Also in her freshman year, she ranked 11th in the country in service aces per game. For a complete story, check out LIndsey's biography here.
